Stronger Together Model of Practice Training

Stronger Together Model of Practice Level 1

This is an eight-minute animated video which introduces you to the East Riding of Yorkshire’s Children, Young People, Support and Safeguarding Services ‘Stronger Together Model of Practice’. It is for partner agencies to gain a basic overview, or it is ideal those who work within a setting which supports children, young people and families such as admin in school, GP's etc; or if you simply want an understanding of what the ‘Stronger Together Model of Practice’ is and you do not directly support children, young people, families and their networks.

Stronger Together Model of Practice Level 2

This e-learning will give you an interactive experience of the Stronger Together Model of Practice, the child-centred approach, concepts, language, and culture which is undertaken within Children, Young People Support and Safeguarding Services and Early Help and Prevention while supporting children, young people, families, and their networks. Through the e-learning you will be asked multiple choice questions or tasks, to get you through to the next part. This will build on the learning from level 1 and offer an opportunity to learn new tools and supports reflection about the way we work with one another and our children, young people, families, and their networks. This is ideal for those who work alongside Children Young People Support and Safeguarding Services and Early Help and Prevention practitioners to support children, young people, their families and networks such as education, health, and police.

Stronger Together Model of Practice Level 3

This training is held face to face and come in two parts, A and B. Both parts need to be completed.

Part A is a one and half day’s training and gives detailed information on the first three aspects of the ‘Stronger Together’ model with tools that can be used directly when supporting our children, young people, families and their networks. The sessions are divided into three areas, one on social pedagogy creating an understanding of the concepts behind it, with tools to support your work within this framework, and small group work to support learning and knowledge. The second is restorative practice, focusing on working restoratively with one another, our children, and their networks, it looks at the use of language and offers opportunity to consider different ways of working and approaches. The third is on systemic practice to really support the understanding of family systems, and how our own values and beliefs can impact on families engagement.

Part B (Signs of Safety) is a two-day training package which builds on what has been learnt in part A. It will focus specifically on Signs of Safety which is the golden thread that runs through the model, and how this is best used and implemented in supporting children, young people, families, and their networks within your own practice. You gain understanding on the theory, processes, language, and practices which are used within Children Young People Support and Safeguarding Services, Early Help and Prevention and other partner agencies. With this in-depth comprehensive understanding and tools, you will be able to link and understand a child, young person and families journey and be able to support them with a consistent approach from all professionals involved, a child-centred, comprehensive, holistic and consistent approach to create an easier path for children, young people, families and their network to navigate.

Level 3 training is aimed at those who are working alongside CYPSSS or Early Help and Prevention or are the lead agencies who support children, young people, families, and their networks such as Education - Designated Safeguarding Leads, Health – School Nurse/Health Visitors, Police – PCSO’s etc.
