Introduction
Child exploitation is child abuse. It is complex and brings many challenges that cannot be dealt with quickly by a single agency which is why, in the East Riding, we are working together to implement a contextual safeguarding approach. This will mitigate the risks to children and young people by:
- reducing the incidence of missing episodes
- safeguard children and young people from child exploitation, trafficking and modern slavery.
The ERSCP multi-agency contextual safeguarding approach, and related practice guidance below, sets out how East Riding will work towards ensuring that effective and coordinated measures and responses are in place to safeguard all children and young people at risk of, or who are experiencing, exploitation.

Training
East Riding Safeguarding Children Partnership deliver inter-agency child exploitation training through our Learner Management System (LMS), provided by Virtual College.
Training is also available through the Ivision Trust who offer conferences, webinars and learning courses for parents, carers and professionals.
