Independent Reviewing Service

 

This service is based in the East Riding Safeguarding Children unit. The Children's Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officers (CISROs) review the care plans of all the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Looked After Children (LAC). Their independence is essential to enable effective challenge of practice and planning, and to ensure a timely and appropriate service to our children and young people in local authority care.

The 2010 Independent Review Officer's Handbook lays out the foundation of the role and responsibilities of these officers and an annual report is produced to reflect their achievements and performance.
