Keeping people safe in the voluntary, faith, and community sector
East Riding Community VISION works in partnership with:
- East Riding of Yorkshire Council
- East Riding Safeguarding Children Partnership
- East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board
They offer additional support to all voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups and organisations working with children, young people and adults, in order to ensure they are able to meet their safeguarding responsibilities and keep people safe. Support and advice includes the development of safeguarding policies, training, and DBS checks.

Safer recruitment for employment and volunteering
Safer recruitment is a set of practices to help make sure your staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children and young people. It's a vital part of creating a safe and positive environment and making a commitment to keep children safe from harm.
Safer recruitment should be a continuing process of improvement for every school, club, business, or organisation whose work or services involve contact with children. All organisations should identify a designated officer/senior manager to whom allegations or concerns should be reported.

Reporting concerns
To report and manage any allegations of abuse made against individuals who work with children and young people, in any setting, please follow the report a concern to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) process.
Safer activities and events
Every group or organisation has a duty to safeguard children and young people in their care. This includes making sure that all children who attend your events and activities are kept safe, whether they are regular or one-off events.
